MobiV Vidlet™ is a compact video player packaged together with selected content as a standard Java application. Vidlet™ can be downloaded and stored on the handset, and replayed just as any ring tone or Java game. In addition to video, it may contain still images, audio, as well as customizable pre- and interactive post-messages. End-user customization has been of particular interest as it enables “send-to-a-friend” services where end-users can send simple video greetings to each other.

More than Just Video

MobiV Vidlet™ supports synchronized content such as video, audio, a customized splash screen, text items, and interactive menus and questions. Additionally, it optionally provides functionality for video clip forwarding (“send-to-a-friend”) and upgrading it to MobiV™; a full featured a mobile content service browser that enables streaming and downloading of video and other content. MobiV Vidlet™ is available for a wide range of handsets including phones from most major vendors, and aims to support all mobile phones with a colour screen and Java or similar technology.
